Learning Presentation Skills

Over the last 32 years, I have had a chance to branch out into working in the world's top corporations. I've facilitated presentation training classes, provided executive coaching, and ran role-playing workshops. In many of the Fortune 500 companies I've coached people to achieve sales excellence.

And what I notice is that they also often ask the question of how to get more customers. It looks like the very same question you may be asking.

Only it sounds slightly different:

How Can We Get More Customers - At Less Cost?

Notice how the question changed. This is exactly why the question "How can I get more clients?" is flawed.

It's not just about more clients. It's about more clients at less cost. This could be hard cost in dollars. Or it could be the other hard cost of time. Remember: This is the beauty of referrals.

These incredibly profitable companies have a few things in place you might not have in your private practice or small business. They have an entire department which focuses on getting more customers. This department is often called, customer acquisition. And this high-powered department always has ha:

  • A repeatable process for customer acquisition.
  • A team of people devoted to customer acquisition.
  • A team of people presenting to potential customers.
  • A tracking system for customer acquisition.
  • A graphic blueprint to track progress.
  • A review process to monitor and guarantee results.

Customer acquisition sounds pretty complex and highly technical. But it just means, 'get more customers.'

Even if you have never thought about this before, you don't have an MBA or an advanced degree in sales. You can do the same thing. It does not need to be complicated or high-tech. It does not need to be fancy. It does not even need to involve a team or anyone except you.

But you can get the same guaranteed results.

You can get more customers. You can give great presentations and get more business. And you can do it for less money and certainly faster than what you're doing right now.

It all starts with gaining the skills to present to customers and designing a customer attraction system that's right for your business. These two go hand in hand. If you are confident in talking to customers, you will have an easier time attracting new clients. If you have a measurable system for attracting new clients, you will be able to achieve better results.

Whether you are a solo entrepreneur or in a small business, you can achieve sales excellence - just like the big guys.
